REPUBLICAN Culture of Corruption?
Looks like it's not just the GOP getting caught in scandal these days. Democrats now face a story of corruption of their own. See this New York Times story for details, or find one of your own...it's been all over the place.
It isn't often that I put news on here that is not directly from Iowa's 1st District, but I thought this was blogworthy because in previous threads commenters talked about the Dems' heavyweight election-winner this fall being their outspoken cry for change from the Republican culture of corruption.
So much for that strategy.

Scoop
What is up with the congressional leadership screaming that a valid search warrant, approved by the Judiciary branch, requested by the Executive branch, can't be served and executed on the legislative branch?
What's this horse***t argument about the seperation of powers? Since when did the Framers intend to protect criminals (in this case congressmen) in their offices (paid for by public funds) when those criminals use those offices in the furtherance of a crime (bribery, etc)?
I'm with you Mav. It makes me worry that there are a lot of them out there that are a bit worried that their offices could be ransacked at any time too. Both sides of the aisle are bitching about it. I say, don't create even the apperance of inpropriety and you have nothing to worry about.
This just creates even more distrust in our Federal government.
